Natural Resource Specialist

The Trust for Tomorrow

The Trust for Tomorrow has one opening for a Natural Resource Specialist position. The position will work directly with producers and landowners to assist with Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) programs and procedures for the planning and implementation of conservation practices on farms and ranches in Florida. The anticipated start date for the position is September 1, 2025.


Primary Job Responsibilities:



Meets and works in collaboration with landowners to develop conservation plans, conservation practices
Assists in gathering and assembling preliminary data for all resource concerns for use in developing complete basic farm conservation plans.
Understands all applicable NRCS and Farm Bill programs available to address resource concerns and explains cost share programs and payment procedures to applicants and contract holders.
Carries out a follow-up schedule for applying soil conservation practices in accordance with plan and contract schedules.
With supervision, utilizes most current technology programs in the documentation and management of conservation plans and technical assistance by the service center
Applies conventional and established conservation methods and techniques to maintain or improve production while conserving soil and water resources.
Assists in the evaluation of onsite urban, rural, or wetland conservation needs and applying land treatment measures including the installation of erosion and water control practices
Provides input for and uses natural resources data and information generated by the Geographic Information System (GIS).
Administers cost share programs.
Performs other duties as assigned by the NRCS Area Conservationist.

Conservation Manager

The position will be based out of CCALT’s Del Norte office and will be primarily responsible for managing CCALT’s conservation easement transactions, upholding stewardship responsibilities in the region, and assisting in additive conservation activities. The position will have a secondary focus on engagement, representing CCALT within the broader regional community to advance our conservation projects and priorities, serving as staff liaison between the Southern Colorado Advisory Committee, the CCALT Board of Directors, and Staff, and supporting CCALT’s External Relations department as needed on regional events. The position will also be responsible for regularly working at and managing CCALT’s Del Norte office.


This position will help expand CCALT’s ability to assist agricultural landowners conserve their property. We are looking for someone who is passionate about working lands conservation and driven to strive for excellence in every facet of the job. This position requires an individual who has the capability to work independently with initiative, motivation, and flexibility. It also demands an ability to manage a workload with multiple, often competing, priorities and deadlines.


While land conservation, legal, and real estate experience are not required, we are looking for a candidate that will bring the skills to excel in these areas and that is eager to commit to these aspects of CCALT’s work. This position will require regular and statewide travel, including overnight and multi-day travel.

Project Manager (Soil Health and Water)

Sustainable Conservation has an exciting opportunity that will play a key role in helping expand a new program and work with a multi-disciplinary team to build on their success to date. Our newest program “Solutions in our Soil” works collaboratively to advance soil practices that improve water management, supply, and quality in California’s Central Coast and San Joaquin Valley. We seek an experienced Project Manager to provide critical project management support to our Soils team by ensuring seamless project operations every day. Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Circular Economies and in collaboration with program team members, the Project Manager will be an integral part of the Soils team. This role will be responsible for overall project management within the team by working collaboratively to integrate team input and track key decisions and actions needed to complete projects. The Project Manager will also be a key contributor to projects, leveraging their writing, facilitation, and collaborative skillsets. The Project Manager must be able to communicate effectively and maintain relationships with a broad array of audiences, both internal and external. Following timelines and paying great attention to detail to meet deliverables is essential. Equally important, the Project Manager should be able to draw connections between water policy, on-farm practices, and research to effectively support multi- and transdisciplinary collaborations with experts across various sectors.

Farmland Coordinator (Term Position)

The Farmland Coordinator will collaborate with the Indiana Coastal Program to identify and develop regional farmland conservation goals to include in the Coastal and Estuarine Land Conservation Program (CELCP)
Plan. Additionally, the Farmland Coordinator will support the implementation of SHLT’s agricultural land program to further realize those goals across the region. This position reports directly to the Conservation
Director and collaborates with the Stewardship and Engagement programs staff, landowners, farmers, and community partners. This is a full-time term position lasting through the end of 2026 with the possibility of extension, to be paid out as hourly with a range of $19-$21/hr based in accordance with candidate experience and expertise. Project Manager

The Northcoast Regional Land Trust (NRLT) is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative Project Manager focused on land conservation in northwestern California. The Project Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, management, and completion of complex land conservation, acquisition, and habitat restoration projects. Specific duties include overseeing a significant coastal aquatic habitat restoration project alongside other construction and restoration projects, preparing grant applications and environmental reports, negotiating and drafting conservation easement terms, commissioning and overseeing the preparation of independent appraisals and other technical reports, and assessing the conservation merits of prospective projects. The Project Manager reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with other NRLT staff. Appalachian Landscape Conservation Coordinator

The Appalachian Landscape Conservation Coordinator will support collaboration across the Appalachian region to accelerate nature conservation and conservation-driven community development. The Coordinator will coordinate the network that emerged from the recent Volgenau Climate Initiative (VCI) retreat focused on the intersection of nature, climate, and the economy in the Appalachian region. The Coordinator will serve as a link and networker between the VCI Appalachian network initiatives and ensure alignment, support the sharing of resources, reduction of duplication between initiatives, and increase knowledge and capacity. The Coordinator will also network with other regional initiatives such as Appalachian Trail Landscape Partners, and Appalachian People and Places. CLLC is serving as the host for this Coordinator, however this position will work with numerous nonprofits, government agencies, and local partners.

The Coordinator will also link CLLC’s connectivity science, policy and planning team to local and regional conservation partners and agencies who are seeking connectivity advisement on how to protect wildlife corridors and address wildlife and transportation challenges.
