Season-Specific Mapping for a Four-Season Community Recreation Center

Overview

Dewey Mountain Recreation Center changes substantially with the seasons. Winter visitors navigate ski and snowshoe trails, while summer users encounter mountain biking, hiking, and disc golf systems with different wayfinding needs. Rather than forcing those activities onto one overloaded map, Green Goat Maps developed separate winter and summer kiosk designs connected by a common visual identity.

Scope of Work

Green Goat Maps was contracted to develop separate seasonal maps; incorporate ski, snowshoe, mountain-bike, hiking, and disc-golf information; add a locator map and custom illustrations; create an intuitive summer trail-difficulty system; and design durable outdoor kiosk layouts.

Key Deliverables

The winter kiosk prioritizes ski and snowshoe navigation. The summer kiosk restructures the same landscape around warm-season trail systems and a custom difficulty framework. Both remain recognizably part of the same recreation center.
