Elk Lake Lodge, a 12,000-acre private preserve in the High Peaks Wilderness, serves as a cornerstone for conservation and recreation in the Adirondacks. To meet Elk Lake Lodge's needs, Green Goat Maps was contracted to:

• Develop a custom base map of the Elk Lake – Clear Pond Preserve, including 40 miles of maintained trails, waterbodies, and key landmarks.

• Create illustrative and cartographic elements that highlight ecological and recreational features.

• Design maps in three formats:

  • A frameable wall map for display in the lodge.

  • A portable paper map for guest use during outdoor activities.

  • A digital map optimized for the Elk Lake Lodge website.

• Ensure the maps align with Elk Lake Lodge’s branding while providing a user-friendly and aesthetically appealing design.

• Incorporate safety information, access points, and navigational guidelines to support guest exploration.
