Five Location-Specific Wayfinding Maps Supporting Downtown Revitalization
Overview
As the Village of Tupper Lake invested in downtown infrastructure through its Revitalization and Action Plan, it needed a wayfinding system that would help cyclists and pedestrians connect recreational assets, public destinations, and community amenities. Green Goat Maps developed a base map and five kiosk-ready map variations for strategic locations throughout the Village.

Scope of Work
To meet the Village's needs, Green Goat Maps was contracted to map bicycle routes, pedestrian connections, parks, schools, waterfront destinations, and other public points of interest; develop five location-specific maps with individualized You Are Here orientation; integrate walking-time information and other navigation aids; align the work with Village branding; and prepare durable outdoor-print files.
Key Deliverables
The project produced a reusable community base map and five kiosk maps customized for their installation locations. Each provides local orientation while maintaining a consistent visual language across the wider wayfinding network.
Challenges & Solutions
A municipal wayfinding map must work equally well for someone who knows the community and a first-time visitor standing at a kiosk. Green Goat Maps balanced regional context with location-specific orientation so users could understand both where they were and how nearby destinations connected to the larger Village.
Results & Client Value
The wayfinding system supports walking, cycling, recreation, and discovery of community destinations while reinforcing Tupper Lake's broader revitalization efforts.
